RECYCLING WASTE

Oakbank Services appreciates the need to reduce the volume of waste sent to landfill and are committed to our environmental obligations. We operate our own waste transfer station where all cardboard, metal, wood, plastic and inert material is recycled, minimising waste sent to landfill. We have one of the highest recycling rates in our area and pride ourselves on producing useful products from waste that would have otherwise been land filled.

HAZARDOUS WASTE

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) came into force in January 2007. The WEEE Directive aims to both reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment being produced and to encourage everyone to reuse, recycle and recover it. We are licensed to handle items that fall under the WEEE directive (TV’s, fridges, freezers, washing machines etc) and enable these items to be disposed of responsibly. We are also licensed to handle other types of hazardous waste including tyres, batteries, waste oils and also asbestos in the form of hard bonded cement fibres (must be bagged and wrapped).
